HEADMAN - SO THEN, 2003

With a title like So Then! it was obvious this single on the German indie disco label GOMMA was inspired by some post punk new wave sounds, but it was interesting to actually find its source sample, an unaccredited bass line and guitar hook lifted straight from the Nine Nine Nine track from ‘78. The flip side attempts an updated version and is titled So Now! but actually still uses the same samples and is pretty subtle in any differences to the other. Maybe he has a point.
