BERLIN - SEX (I’M A…), 1982
Los Angeles synth pop group, founded by singer Terri Nunn, bassist John Crawford, and keyboard player David Diamond, that made its first significant hit with the provocative single “Sex (I’m A…)” which was banned by some radio stations due to its graphic lyrics. Before signing to independent label Enigma Records and releasing their gold-selling debut Pleasure Victim in 1982, Nunn briefly left the band to pursue an acting career, having once auditioned for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars. Their international hit “Take My Breath Away” from the movie Top Gun became their best-selling single in 1986, but also their last.
