• THE NORMAL - WARM LEATHERETTE, 1978

T.V.O.D./Warm Leatherette was the first single on Mute Records and the only release from The Normal, a minimalist electronic project of Daniel Miller, a film editor who founded Mute with the intention of releasing his own music. The track references J.G. Ballard’s Crash and was recorded in Miller’s apartment with him playing a series of sawtooth waves on a Korg 700S analog synth through two Revox B-77 tape machines.
