DOMINATRIX - THE DOMINATRIX SLEEPS TONIGHT, 1983

Endearing cult hit written and produced by Stuart Argabright, whose other early projects include Ike Yard and Death Comet Crew, with vocals by Claudia Summer and synthesizer by Peter Baumann of Tangerine Dream. While certainly not the first song to address bondage culture, it was still a gutsy single for it’s time, combining post-punk and new wave into an adorable post-disco playground, written by Argabright out of genuine respect and admiration for professional NYC dominatrixes who earned a living by chaining up, whipping, and torturing upscale Manhattan businessmen.
