PHILIPPE DORAY - CONTRECHANT MAGNETIQUE, 1980
Rare French synth punk from Philippe Doray, whose history is about as obscure as his records which now fetch up to $200. Before joining Thierry Müller on his Ilitch and Ruth projects, Doray recorded two experimental albums between 1977 and 1980 with les Asociaux Associés, the second being Nouveaux Modes Industriels which was heavily influenced by new wave, free jazz, and twisted funk, creating an incredible collision of industrial synth pop and freeform electronic soundscapes.
